State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. G.Tsogtsaikhan paid a working visit to Brazil on December 1-2. During his visit, Mr. G.Tsogtsaikhan held meetings with Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Eduardo dos Santos and Deputy Foreign Minister and Under-secretary General of the Ministry of External Affairs, Mrs. Maria Edileuza Fontenele Reis to discuss a broad spectrum of issues of bilateral relations and cooperation.

The latter congratulated Mongolia on taking a decision to open its embassy in Brazil which serves to be an important step of a political significance for developing bilateral relations and cooperation. Brazil has a great determination to foster ties with Mongolia especially in areas of education, sports, economy and mining, she stressed. There are wide opportunities for the implementation of scholarship programs for Mongolian students and academic exchanges and for training Mongolian youth engaged in football. Noting that a Brazil-Mongolia friendship group was set up at the National Congress of Brazil, Mrs. Maria Reis said the group is expected to play a significant role in moving forward inter-parliamentary collaboration.

In turn, Mr. G.Tsogtsaikhan emphasized that the Government of Mongolia pays a particular attention to the development of bilateral relations and cooperation and expressed a confidence in expansion and deepening of bilateral cooperation in political, economic, trade, investment, education and sports spheres owing to the Mongolian Embassy to open soon in Brazil. Requesting to consider the conclusion of a visa-free travel agreement initiated and delivered by Mongolia, the State secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Mongolia informed of actions the Government of Mongolia is taking towards the improvement of investment environment and the increase in the foreign investment.
